Maintenance Technician

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:


SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician uses principles of total quality management (TQM) to repair and overhaul equipment in the facility to maintain operational readiness. Ensures Safety procedures and processes are followed during all repairs and preventative maintenance.   This  position will support the daily functions within our facility maintenance department, and will primarily troubleshoot and repair all areas of mechanical repair including, but not limited to, supply and exhaust fans, compressors, cranes and hoists, pumps & motors, gearboxes and power transfer components, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the building and facilities

  • Conpletes paperwork as needed

  • Thorough troubleshooting to identify machine malfunctions and isolate the failure mechanism

  • Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner

  • Performs preventative maintenance at specified intervals and schedules

  • Troubleshoot and maintain all electrical and mechanical equipment (including hydraulic and pneumatic systems)

  • Change air filters including intake and exhaust systems including paint booths

  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on all plant support equipment

  • Support production equipment with pm and repairs

  • Performs maintenance or general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks, material handling equipment, etc.

  • Completes required reports when maintenance tasks are concluded

  • Ability to function in a team environment

  • General knowledge of power and hand tools

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, and on ladders

  • Keeps the maintenance shop organized and in good working order

  • Experience in welding using MIG, TIG, and arch welders

  • Keeps the maintenance shop organized and in good working order

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 or more years experience performing facilities, equipment, building, etc maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Skilled in using common and specialized tools efficiently to make repairs and perform maintenance duties

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyman certification
